Exhibition JACQUES CLAUZEL

|
Jacques Clauzel was born on May 4, 1941 at Nimes. He studied painting in Tourcoing, Montpellier and Paris (workshop Chastel).
As a young artist, he was nominated grand logiste for the Prix de Rome in 1964. From 1968 onwards, Clauzel dedicades his time to reportage photography. In 1973 he is founding a studio for industrial photography before being offered a professorship for photography at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Montpellier in 1975.
Just one year later Clauzel turns back to his first love, painting, by the biais of automatic drawings. His predeliction for kraft paper as the perfect material and support for his art works becomes predominant. From 1985 on, the quintessential themes are defined and will be represented in all of his art works. Clauzel uses other techniques like etching, litho and photography, he works as an editor of art books for the edition "A travers" as well as for other editors.

Serge Férat exhibition

On October 20 the gallery Berès will open the first solo exhibition of Serge Ferat (1881-1958) since 1938. The Russian painter who was largeley involved in the Parisian avant-garde scene at the beginning of the XXth century was mainly known for his collaboration with Apollinaire on his theater play « Les mamelles de Tirésias ».
This exceptionnel show which will run from 0ctober 21, 2010 to January 15, 2011 will present more than 140 paintings by Ferat in two different showrooms : galerie Berès situated at 25, quai Voltaire and galerie Berès situated at 35, rue Beaune.
