Pierre LESIEUR, the life of a painter : Paintings and pastels from 05-11-17 to 06-01-14

Born in Paris, 1922, Lesieur devoted himself at an early age to drawing and painting. In 1940, he takes courses at the Beaux-Arts, which he quickly quits because he becomes interested in modern painting, including Cubism, and particularly the light of Bonnard and Matisse, both of whom greatly influenced his work.

His first exhibition is held around 1943 in Paris. He paints from the sketches he took in the middle of France, Normandy, New York, London and the Far East.

As an intimist painter, his palette is light with pastel tones and his touch is delicate and sensible. He essentially works on still lifes, interiors and landscapes. His style is undeniable influenced by Vuillard. From 1953, he starts participating in numerous salons (FIAC in Paris, 1980) and is invited to various international demonstations in England, Italy, Poland, Russia and Japan.
